Our Mission
Teach Our Children’s mission is to ensure that we as parents are truly involved with education policy and decision-making and rightfully acknowledged as critical participants in the success of our school system.
Our Story
Teach Our Children (TOC) is a parent-led organization of New Haven parents organizing to improve our public schools.
In January 2006, after various community forums on education, a handful of New Haven Public School parents came together to say ENOUGH TALK! WE NEED ACTION! and Teach Our Children (TOC) was born.
We have accomplished a lot, but we have more work to do before ALL our children – regardless of race, income, or neighborhood – get the quality education that they deserve here in New Haven’s neighborhood public schools.
If we come together and build our power as parents, with the support of all of New Haven’s communities, we can create a school system that works for children, parents, teachers and administrators so that our children will not be left behind.
